Heartland Student Musicians to Showcase Talent Across Europe in Summer 2026

In an exciting cultural exchange initiative, talented high school musicians from the Heartland area are being recruited for a transformative performance journey across Europe in 2026. Having recently concluded a tour in June of this year, the Musicians Abroad organization is excited to announce some exciting changes to the 2026 tour emanating from America's heartland.

Lead by Dr. Frank Tracz, Professor of Music and Director of Bands at Kansas State University (KSU) in Manhattan, the tour will consist of a diverse ensemble of high school musicians representing various genres of classical music including concert band, concert choir and string orchestra. The tour will begin with a three-day camp held on the beautiful KSU campus, followed by flights overseas and performances that will take them through iconic European cities renowned for their vibrant musical heritage and historical significance during the 2-week tour.

"We are thrilled to bring music from America’s Heartland to audiences across Europe. This tour not only celebrates our state's musical diversity but also fosters international cultural exchange through the universal language of music."

Dr. Frank Tracz
Coordinator, Conductor
Heartland Musicians Abroad

The itinerary will include stops in major cultural hubs such as Paris, Munich, Salzburg and Vienna, where the Heartland musicians will perform in outstanding venues while experiencing the culture, cuisine and beauty of each country. Each concert will offer audiences and performers a memorable musical experience.

Tracz said, "We believe in the power of music to transcend borders and create meaningful connections. This tour represents a significant opportunity for our musicians to share their talents on an international stage while also learning from the rich musical traditions of Europe."

Heartland Musicians Abroad supports the performance dreams of both vocal and instrumental musicians and is one of several states and regions that participate in a biannual European tour. Musicians Abroad is a division of Music Travel Consultants, an Indianapolis based Tour Operator that is led by accomplished scholastic music directors and musicians with over 165 years combined travel expertise within the United States and worldwide.
