Anna Kennedy

Anna Kenendy is the Director of Bands and general music instructor for grades 9-12 at Seaman HS (KS) in Topeka. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education (2007) and a Master of Music (2010) from Kansas State University, where she studied under Dr. Frank Tracz, Director of Bands. Mrs. Kennedy began her teaching career in 2010 as the Assistant Director of Bands at Seaman HS (KS) and has spent her entire 16-year career in the Seaman School District. Her experience spans a wide range of grade levels and subjects, including Kindergarten general music, concert and marching bands, modern band, music theory and the creation of one of the school’s most popular electives, History of Rock and Roll. A dedicated performer as well as educator, Mrs. Kennedy remains active as a freelance horn player. She performs with the Midwest Winds of Kansas City under the direction of Ms. Jodie Lin, and the Crossroads Wind Symphony under the direction of Dr. Paul Popiel. Outside of her professional life, Mrs. Kennedy enjoys spending time with her husband, Owen, and watching their two young children grow.
