OZMA ’26 Staff Members- Edgmon, Finger

Each Musicians Abroad tour is guided by an outstanding team of educators who bring leadership, experience and enthusiasm to every step of the journey. These dedicated professionals support students through rehearsals, performances and travel abroad, ensuring each participant has a meaningful and unforgettable experience.

 

Ryan Edgmon

Ryan Edgmon serves as director of bands and instrumental music coordinator for Mustang Public Schools in Mustang, Oklahoma. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Edgmon earned his degree in instrumental music education in 2004 and is in his 21st year of teaching, including 16 years in Mustang.

Under his leadership, Mustang ensembles have been featured at the Oklahoma Music Educators Association Conference, the Music for All National Concert Band Festival, Bands of America Regional and National Championships, as well as state-level events for marching, concert and jazz.

Mr. Edgmon is a member of the Oklahoma Music Educators Association, the National Association for Music Education, the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association and Phi Beta Mu International Band Fraternity. In 2024, he was recognized as an OkMEA Exemplary Teacher and remains active as an adjudicator, clinician and visual designer.

Craig Finger

Craig Finger is in his 28th year as director of bands for Nixa Public Schools. During his tenure he has overseen the growth of the district program from 250 students to close to 800.

In addition to program management, his primary teaching duties include conducting of the Crimson Corps marching band, Concert band, assisting with the Symphonic band, Wind Ensemble and assisting with the 8th grade band. Ensembles under his leadership have consistently earned Superior ratings at State festivals, as well as high placements at local and regional events.

He began his teaching career in Mountain Grove Missouri. Mr. Finger holds a B.S. in education and a M.S. in educational administration from Missouri State University. He is a member of MBA, MMEA, NafME, Percussive Arts Society and Phi Beta Mu. Mr. Finger served as the band Vice President for SCMMEA for six years, band Vice President for MMEA for two years and is currently the Mentoring Chair for SCMMEA.

Craig is proud to be married for 30 years to his wife Shawn and to be the father of Luke, 19, and Levi, 14. For all of his professional accomplishments he is most proud to be named a “Top 10 Dad” by “417” magazine in 2011. He also once received a ticket for disturbing the peace due to early morning band rehearsals.
