2026 Musicians Abroad Tours in Review
The 2026 Musicians Abroad tours brought together student musicians from Bayou, Michigan, Ohio, Ozark and Heartland regions for unforgettable international experiences centered on music, culture and connection. From iconic concert halls to historic landmarks, these journeys gave students the chance to perform abroad, explore world-famous destinations and build lasting memories along the way.
Highlights From the 2026 Musicians Abroad Tours
Each Musicians Abroad tour is designed for a specific region, creating a one-of-a-kind experience for students to represent their home communities on the international stage. Over the course of their travels, students visited historic cities, stood in meaningful places of remembrance and performed in unforgettable settings across Europe.
Bayou Musicians Abroad
Bayou Musicians Abroad began with pre-tour camp at LSU before traveling to Vienna, Austria. Their journey included visits to the House of Music, Schönbrunn Palace, Melk Abbey, Salzburg and Munich, along with powerful stops at Dachau Concentration Camp and Neuschwanstein Castle. The ensemble also performed in Vienna, Salzburg, Oberammergau and Andermatt, while enjoying scenic time in Lucerne and a memorable finale in Paris, where students experienced the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, a Seine dinner cruise and visits to Omaha Beach, Normandy American Cemetery and Pointe du Hoc.
Heartland Musicians Abroad
Heartland Musicians Abroad gathered at Kansas State for pre-camp rehearsals and a Bon Voyage Concert before departing for France. Their tour began with a visit to Versailles Palace and continued through Normandy, where students visited Omaha Beach, Normandy American Cemetery, Sainte-Mère-Église, Utah Beach and Pointe du Hoc before performing at the Utah Beach Memorial Concert. In Paris, the group shared in concerts, sightseeing and a Seine River cruise dinner, then traveled through Switzerland and Germany with stops in Lucerne, Mount Pilatus, Neuschwanstein Castle, Dachau, Salzburg and Vienna.
Michigan Musicians Abroad
Michigan Musicians Abroad departed from several home airports before meeting in London, where students visited Windsor Castle, toured the city, explored Borough Market, saw Buckingham Palace and the Changing of the Guard and performed at St. Regent’s Park and St. Paul’s Cathedral. Their travels continued with performances and sightseeing in Paris, including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Latin Quarter, the Louvre, Versailles and Montmartre. The group then moved on to Andermatt, Neuschwanstein, Dachau, Salzburg and Vienna, rounding out the tour with scenic alpine experiences and final performances in Europe’s most iconic destinations.
Ohio Musicians Abroad
Ohio Musicians Abroad also began with flights from across the state before meeting in London for a visit to Windsor Castle and a performance day that included a panoramic tour, Borough Market and a concert in Victoria Embankment. In Paris, students experienced the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, a Seine River cruise, Montmartre and performances by choir and orchestra, as well as band. Their route continued through Switzerland and Germany, with memorable stops at Mount Pilatus, Lucerne, Andermatt, Neuschwanstein, Dachau and Munich, before finishing the journey in Vienna with a guided city tour, Schönbrunn Palace and a farewell dinner.
Ozark Musicians Abroad
Ozark Musicians Abroad began with pre-camp at Broken Arrow High School before departing for Prague, where students performed in the Czech capital and explored the Castle District, Old Town and the Vltava River on a dinner cruise. Their trip continued to Český Krumlov, Vienna and Bratislava, blending performances with rich cultural sightseeing. Students then visited Salzburg, Melk Abbey, Munich, Dachau, Neuschwanstein, Lucerne and Mount Pilatus before concluding with concerts in Oberammergau, Andermatt and Vienna.
More Than a School Trip
For many students, these tours were their first opportunity to travel internationally and perform for audiences around the world. Beyond the concerts and sightseeing, the experience offered a chance to grow in confidence, build friendships and gain a deeper appreciation for the way music connects people across borders.
