Taylor Steps Up as Indiana Coordinator

CHRIS TAYLOR HAS TRAVELED ACROSS THE COUNTRY AS WELL AS OVERSEAS. IT ONLY SEEMS NATURAL THAT HE WOULD BE THE LEADING FORCE IN ORGANIZING THE FIRST MUSICIANS ABROAD TOUR.

Since the turn of the century, Chris Taylor has been teaching high school band. Beginning as an assistant director at Highland High School in Anderson, Indiana, for the past 11 years, Chris has been the music director at Pendleton Heights High School in Pendleton, Ind. Chris has traveled with his groups to New York, Philadelphia, Florida, and Hawaii. His students have marched in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Philadelphia Thanksgiving Parade and Hollywood Christmas Parade.

He is involved in the Indiana Music Educators Association. He has served as a clinician and state chair for the IMEA Non-Competitive Festivals. He has served as President and the Honor Band chair as well. He has served on staff for the Indiana All-Star Marching band. Christopher also directs the Directors’ Jazz Orchestra, a group of music teachers from the area who perform throughout the year. The group was selected to perform at the 2005, 2009, 2011 and 2017 IMEA Conventions. He is a zone representative for the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) and has served on the Indiana Bandmasters Association board. He was inducted into Phi Beta Mu in 2012.
